According to the ASTMD1238 standard, a displacement sensor needs to be arranged at the lower end of the piston rod, which means that the volume of the extruded material is measured in a unit time, which is calculated by the displacement of the piston within a certain time.The unit is cm³ / 10 min, which is the MVR volume method; Then through the melt density at 230 ℃, the MFR melt index value is automatically displayed in g / 10 min; in order to prevent the melt materials from flowing out of the die, this method requires a die block with good sealing performance at the bottom of the die.

The most significant advantage of this method is the elimination of the effect of mechanical cutting, which can simultaneously record the characteristics of the distance of the piston displacement and the test time, while achieving high accuracy, even for short measurement time and small piston displacement, such as: high flow rate, PP polypropylene with a time of about 0.600S.
